Silver letters on black spine over teal boards in FINE condition in a like Brodart protected dust jacket. 283pp. A collection of "Wyoming Stories," one of which, " The Half-Skinner Steer," was selected for inclusion in the Best American Short Stories of the Century, and another, "Brokeback Mountain," was made into the film that won Oscars for the director Ang Lee and screenwriter Larry McMurty. Includes six full-page watercolor illustrations by William Matthews that were not included in later editions. Proulx won the Pulitzer Prizer for two previous books The Shipping News and Accordion Crimes. She also won the National Book Award and the Pen/Faulkner Award.
