Gunnar Ekeof (1907 – 1968)

Translated by Robert Bly (1926 -  )
1968 Limited Edition (1/300) Charioteer Press, Washington
Gilt letters on full blue cloth in FINE condition in a NEAR FINE Brodart protected dust jacket.  Inscribed by American poet Gene Ruggles.  Ekelof is Sweden's first surrealist poet, one of the most read and widely influential Scandinavian modernist poets.
Bly writes, “We find him urging the reader to ‘give up power’ … admonitions like those in Persian mystics or in the Tao Te Ching.  And it is clear Ekelof understands very well the Eastern ‘flavor of the infinite’.” Very scarce.
