First edition pocketbook in original decorated wraps.  In NEAR FINE condition and protected in a clear plastic envelope.  158pp.  Abé won the Akutagawa Prize in 1951 and the Yomiuri Prize for this book.  A film adaptation of this appeared in 1964 which won a Special Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
